Created in 1961, the Domaine MICHELAS St Jemms managed by 4 brother and sisters is located in the Northern Rhone coasts in the commune of MERCUROL, 90 km from LYON, and about 140 km from AVIGNON.
Originally founded by Robert and Yvette in 1961, our domain has increased its popularity meanwhile the CROZES – HERMITAGE designation became really famous around the world. Some illustrious persons including the Marquis of Arces have walked on our land area.
Granitic and argilo-calcareous ground, pebbles, shale and Lœss makes the variety of our sunny countries, often swept by the Mistral (local wind).
Because our viticulture is careful, meticulous and environmentally friendly, leaf removal and grape-picking are carried out by hand, a modern wine storehouse combining performance and tradition, our knowledge for wine production, allow us to produce the ultimate quality for our wines on approximately 50 hectares, 4 designations of origin and a local wine.
